Software Engineer
At 13th Lab we are developing the next generation computer vision platform for mobile devices. We believe the camera has the potential to be the most important device sensor, and we are building the tools to enable this.
We are a small, experienced team working on very difficult problems, and the opportunities are huge.
Our first product, the iPad 2 game Ball Invasion is live in the App Store. It is the first (and only) SLAM implementation available in the App Store. This is however just the beginning…
We are pushing the boundaries of what can be accomplished on mobile devices, and are looking for a few exceptional engineers to help us in our endeavors. By joining us at this early stage you will get the chance to have a large impact, and work on interesting and hard problems. Since we are a small company, you will be expected to wear many hats.
Your work will include some or all of the following:
- Computer Vision R&D
- Implementing algorithms in C++ based on academic papers
- Low level performance optimizations on mobile devices
- Product design and development for mobile devices
- Work with distributed computing on Amazon EC2
The ideal candidate has an M.Sc in Computer Science or similar and has academic or professional experience in Computer Vision, although it is not a hard requirement.
The following are skills we are looking for (you don’t have to meet all these criteria, but you need to excel at at least a few):
- Developing fast and efficient software in C/C++
- Data structures and algorithms
- Strong math (mainly Linear Algebra) skills
- Computer Vision
- Distributed computing (Hadoop, message queues etc)
- Development on iOS and/or Android
- Non-professional work in Computer Science or Programming (hobby projects, contributions to open source projects, academic research etc)
We prefer that you are based in (or willing to relocate to) Stockholm, Sweden, but if you are a perfect fit you will be allowed to work remotely.
